The Story of Gigo George

GIGO GEORGE

Founder & Coach

Every meaningful journey has a beginning. Mine began at home, where my parents dedicated their lives to building St. Gregorios Central School, Karunagappally — the very school where I grew up and studied.
After completing my engineering and MBA, I spent three years in the corporate world. That experience introduced me to the power of systems, professionalism, accountability and continuous growth — lessons that would later shape my approach to school leadership.

I was never an extraordinary student. But my parents raised me with strong values, culture and, above all, the importance of being a good human being. These values helped me build meaningful relationships, earn trust and understand that leadership is ultimately about people.
In May 2016, I made a defining decision. I left the corporate world and returned to the community that had shaped me, joining my alma mater as its Director.

I stepped into a school with a proud legacy, but very little understanding of what it truly took to build and lead a successful school. Almost everything I assumed about school leadership was challenged.
So, I began to learn.
I studied the institution. I listened to teachers, students, parents and staff. I observed. I asked questions. I spoke to other school leaders. And, most importantly, I remained curious.

The early years were not easy. I was the new person in a familiar institution, carrying enormous responsibility and learning to work alongside my father, whose expectations were high. There were mornings when the pressure felt overwhelming.
But I refused to give up.

I learned to manage myself before trying to lead others.

I learned that leadership is not something that simply comes to you — it is built through effort, reflection, consistency and commitment.
Over the years, I have grown from someone who was trying to understand how a school works into a leader deeply passionate about building strong systems, developing leadership and creating institutions that can thrive beyond individuals.

My journey at St. Gregorios Central School continues. And The Future School Consultancy is an extension of everything this journey has taught me.
